I had Orkin do a termite inspection of my house. They didn't find any visible evidence, but they want to sell me a preventative drywood termite treatment called borate treatment. According to their brochures it soaks into the wood, repelling termites and poisoning the ones who do eat the wood. The cost is $967. It's guaranteed for life as long as I pay $150 yearly renewals.

Does anyone know whether this is worth it or not?
