Subj: the new Shell Station is customer UN-friendly
From: [email protected] (Denz-Hamilton, Jona)

Hi Neighbors,

I thought I'd share my experience at the new Bernal Rd. (Albertson's) SHELL STATION. I just used its "free" carwash for the second time. There is a disclaimer posted stating that they are not responsible for: power antennas, bug guards...and other NON-factory items.

Well, the car wash twisted my (factory-installed) rear wiper backward and ripped up the wiper blade. When I told the attendant about it he tried to put me off then mumbled to "come back tomorrow morning".

I was just there and spoke with "him" and what appeared to be his supervisor. All I got from them was, "We are not responsible! It's a self serve! The sign says so." Even after I explained what the sign really said, they would not budge.

We're talking about a lousy wiper blade here!! Even if they would have said, "Gee, we're really sorry--how about a free cup of coffee?" I would have been satisfied. But they stubbornly stuck to their so-called policy. You'd think they'd be concerned about building up their business.

The people that run USA Gas around the corner on Monterey Road are much nicer. Their gas is cheaper and their inexpensive carwash is much more vehicle-friendly!!

Your vocal neighbor,

Jona Denz-Hamilton

P.S. I'll be contacting Shell's corporate office--you bet!
