I already emailed in a "babysitter wanted" notice before I found this.

I *strongly* second the idea-- it is so hard to find responsible girls! It seems everytime I get a good "batch" of sitters (usually one reliable girl knows two or three others in her class who also sit), things work out for about a year or two. Then they discover boys/cars/better-paying mall jobs and I have to start all over again from ground zero. Any sort of community resource would benefit both parents and babysitters, I would think... Obviously they would be some security concerns on behalf of the babysitters-- nobody wants to let their daughter go off to a strange house-- but surely something could be worked out?
