I am planning to contact the City Council to get on the August 2000 agenda. It is time for us to receive the same type of service/rates that surrounding communities such as Los Gatos, Saratoga, Santa Clara, etc. get. Specifically, every six months residents of the above referenced communities have a cleanup period wherein they can put large items on the streets for pickup at no extra charge. We have to pay $19 for up to three items year-round. I have already requested and received garbage rates for all of the surrounding towns. It's time for us to show up in droves to request equal service.
