Subj: Two Vicious Brindle Colored Pit Bulls
From: [email protected] (Wade and Chantal Kastorff)

This is a warning to everybody that lives near Avenida Espana and North Creek area. There are two Light Brindle Colored Pit Bulls that are on the hunt in our neighborhood. I personally witnessed these dogs attack and kill a cat on Moen Ct. and have spoken to another person that has lost their cat to these dogs. Today, Sunday, November 21st they were out again. I called 911 to report these vicious animals and was told by animal control "We are not coming out on these animals today". I was a little upset by this and said thank you then hung up.

About 45 minutes later I called animal control directly and spoke with a very nice person. They explained that the City of San Jose only pays for animal control to patrol from Monday through Saturday. On Sundays they will only respond to Actual Emergencies, i.e. animals hit by a vehicle, an attack, etc. She said if I would like to write a complaint that I should contact our City Councilperson and complain. I will use this as my current plan of attack. I hope that you fine readers of this will do the same.

I dont know what it will take to keep these vicious animals off the street; I would hate to think a front-page article on the San Jose Mercury News talking about a child getting mauled by these dogs would make it happen.

We sincerely hope not.
