On Sunday, April 2, 2006 at about 2 in the afternoon, someone walked brazenly up to the front door of our home and stole my son's friend's bike. The bike was against the front step. My husband happened to see the guy and we took off in 2 cars and got the bike back. The police were notified, and combed the neighborhood, but in driving around, we learned from talking to other neighbors that this has been happening a lot. The policeman concurred. There are people having things taken off their front lawns and out of their open (or unlocked) garages. These people are NOT SCARED. Please watch out for your belongings. Don't leave your garage open, and have your kids lock their bikes even in the front yard. I'd rather have people know about this than be quiet to protect "how our neighborhood looks". Bikes are expensive.
