Subj: (No Subject) From: [email protected] Barbara, I just became aware of the issue from a leaflet left on my porch. I'm concerned with the first paragraph which states "you do not need to live in the school district to be concerned" Then the last paragraph states "I call on you to defend our community members" This is a bit of a contradiction isn't it? I am not aware of all your issues but I am VERY concerned about people outside the school district making decisions for this community. The High School is paid for by this community and as such this community has the only say in its use. I disagree that outside groups should have use of the facilities - that's not what we are paying taxes for. Also, it is very innappropriate for unauthorized individuals to be on the school grounds at all - for security reasons. So I think you should limit the scope of your action to the faculty and students only. And I think you would be much more effective to get the local community on your side - you won't do this by inviting participation from outside groups or individuals. I never heard of Santa Teresa Neighborhood Association with a president named Mr. Moore, but I think you would do well to invite him and the local community to your discussions. Are you interested in resolving the issues ? - are you interested in acceptable compromises? |
