Subj: La Colina Park future development meeting -Reply From: [email protected] My suggestion is to do something similar to Fisher Park in Campbell where they put in an upscale children's playground with sprinkler devices for children to play in the water when it's hot and a fancy sand lot. They also have an elaborate concrete tower for roller blading. Barbeque set ups and picnic tables are a mistake. It will encourage out of towners to come and spend the day and eat and drink. Don't make any provision for eating. All the available space will be taken up with garbage cans and tables. Just have an upscale, pleasant place for playing and recreating for young children and adults alike with comfy benches for parents to sit on and do let's have some patio covers shading the benches. Fisher Park in Campbell is a model park that really has proven to be quite successful at meeting the recreating needs of children. Cici Dovie |
