Subj: Cable Service now AT&T was TCI From: [email protected] I just returned from Virginia where I was very impressed by the level of their basic service as compared to what we receive here from AT&T (TCI). Back there, the basic DOES NOT include controversial stations such as MTV. Rather, your basic service fee (lower than ours) receives the History Channel and several other educational channels which we have to pay extra for here. I no longer have teenaged children where I have to monitor their viewing. So, it amazes me that with the number of people out there, served by AT&T Cable, that more parents do not demand the educational channels be part of the basic cable. I have always felt that MTV should be a paid channel considering the music and stories they sometimes show. AT&T, unlike TCI, is known for sponsoring family type shows, concerts, events, etc. I would think that if enough viewers wrote them, we could have a basic channel service that no one would have to monitor or be embarrassed to watch. |
