Subj: Lucky's Survey From: [email protected] Look at the bright side: The Lucky's store was highly unsatisfactory, although the staff were friendly. Now that it's gone and we have so many interested, active neighborhood residents expressing requests, we may actually be able to make an improvement. I'd like to see the 98 cent store disappear and a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's take it's place. By the way, isn't Lucky's creating a monopoly in the area? If they manage to run Nob Hill by undercutting prices, we will have no choices. Aren't monopolies illegal? By refusing to sell their property to another grocery chain, Lucky's is only placing a tighter grip on their potential monopoly. Any lawyers in the House? I'd like to see the coin laundry shop receive a massive upgrade; it is disgraceful, dilapidated, and scary. I made the mistake of going once to wash blankets and could not wait to leave. It's embarrassing to drive by that "gateway" to our otherwise nice neighborhood. I'd love to have a coffee shop and a good restaurant there (ethnic foods or The Good Earth restaurant...). It would also be nice if Kaiser could landscape their open space with flowers, etc. until such time as they are able to build another facility. Great to know so many people care...
