Subj: Cisco doesn't need Calpine From: [email protected] Cisco will absolutely not require any power from the proposed Calpine power plant. A letter from the Coyote Valley Research Park, LLC, the development team working on the Cisco campus development, makes the following statements: "For your information, the North Coyote Valley Campus Industrial Area and the Cisco campus do not require energy from the proposed MEC project for their development." and: "The proposed energy center use may well be incompatible with the adjoining campus environment, which is primarily planned for high-end office and research & development uses." (You can read the full text of the letter here.) In fact, the proposed modernization of Moss Landing (Monterey County) will include an additional 800 MW of power to be sent to our area (more than the MEC would provide, if built), in addition to all the power Moss Landing already supplies to our area. The MEC, if built, would only divert power we would receive from Moss Landing. I hope this dispels any misconceptions about the need for power in Coyote Valley and San Jose. Elizabeth Cord |
