Subj: Conduct of community members at meetings From: [email protected] (Walter Alvey) This is a difficult message for me to post, but I feel that it needs to be said. I have been to a few of the community meetings regarding the power plant where I was a little embarrassed by the conduct of a few of the community members. This happened when people interrupted and/or shouted while other people were speaking in favor of the plant. I realize that this is an emotional issue. I have strong feelings about it myself. In my opinion, however, interrupting and shouting will only undermine our position, especially in the view of people who are truly neutral or undecided. If my comments offend anyone, please remember that I am on your side and am trying only to maximize our effectiveness. We have the facts on our side. Let's not weaken them by the way that we present them. Thank you. |
