Subj: Calpine power plant feedback From: [email protected] We were planning to make $20K of improvements to our home over the next few months, but not now! By allowing the Calpine proposal process to continue, Charlotte Powers has effectively put all of that on hold for us. If the city council votes to amend the master plan and change the zoning so Calpine can build their power plant, that's the day that our Los Paseos home will go up for sale. We can't afford, nor will we put up with the potential loss in property values! Santa Teresa's real estate values are still reeling from the Fairchild fiasco! Do we need the power this plant will provide? Will the power generated by this plant even be available to our neighborhood? The answer to both of these questions is a resounding "NO!" Check out the survey at this website! It's obvious that the power plant is not wanted. Charlotte, please represent us properly. We don't want to live our lives on hold until June, 2000, and we certainly don't want a power plant just upwind of our residential area. Tim Hayes |
