Subj: Calpine power plant feedback Do the residents of the South San Jose Community want more health problems? I think not, remember FAIRCHILD???? I have lived in the area for almost 26 years, I was born with a birth defect, and at age two diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. Fairchild was shut down for the toxin's they polluted into the drinking water. We have had enough health problems in the area, and we don't need anymore. There were the mass class action lawsuits which the residents of the South San Jose Community won. That is proof enough that we will not tolerate the corporations coming in and destroying our living environment. We need to preserve the land that is left to grow crops, and raise cattle. There has been enough building going on in the area. The Oak Ridge Golf Course near the hospital WAS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. Now it is nothing but homes... This is what the corporations are doing to us. We need to say NO to more traffic in the area, 85 & 87 still are not connected completely, the traffic is unbearable at the metering lights in the morning. Do we really need more people, more traffic Highway 101 is awful as well. Please vote NO on this power plant... we don't need it. K Weaver |
