Subj: Calpine & property values From: [email protected] I have a large portion of my retirement income invested in the equity of my home. How much of this will I give up due to the loss of property value when a power plant is constructed one half mile away? $50,000? $100,000? $$$??? How much will you lose? How many more years will you have to work to recover your loss? Will we be able to find any qualified buyers? Or will we have to rent to low income tenants? Maybe we will have to convert our houses to group homes. The county will pay a great rate to house 13 drug addicts, recently released from prison, to stay in your house for 90 days. The city council approved this activity in our neighborhood 2 years ago. What next? |
