Subj: The Numbers From: [email protected] (Tim Alton) I called Joe Guerra's office, mayor's budget&policy chief, this morning but got voice mail. I prepared some numbers just on the off chance I got to speak to him. He was
quoted in the SJ Business Journal article of July 26, 1999
"Of course, we can't run the Ciscos in the area without sufficient energy, and
we need substantially more power for the valley," said Mr. Guerra, noting
the unwelcome alternative is increasing the amount of towers on land and
numbers of huge wires running overhead. Placing the power plant near
PG&E's substation makes environmental and economic sense, especially as
the natural gas line is in place, requiring only about 100 feet of line to connect
the two. CISCO 19 buildings 3.3million sq ft 65MW - 12MW = 53MW peak ($5.2M rebate from PG&E for effecient AC units gave them the -12MW figure) data from PG&E for
North San Jose campus. Total Coyote new requirement = 137MW Spare 463MW The numbers do not add up to a requirement for MEC. Tell everyone you know. -- |
