In regards to the Calpine/Metcalf energy. Last night 8/10/99 the Santa Clara County Green Party voted by consensus to oppose the Calpine Metcalf Energy center. A working group of Michael Stanley Jones, Mike Boyd, and John Ladasky has been established to draft a statement of opposition and press release of the county Greens position on this project. The first draft should be prepared this weekend in Santa Barbara County at the Statewide Green Party meeting. Hopefully it will complete in time for the next C.E.C. meeting on this project.

In regards to legal action against the project I have formed a new organization to solicit funds for legal expenses. The organization is called Californians for Renewable Energy. I am also in the process of forming this organization as a non-profit public benefit corporation. In order to do this I need to find some volunteers to serve as board members for the corporation, and to elect corporate officers.
