Subj: Coincidence or Conflict of Interest? From: [email protected] Did you know that Lisa Poehle, who now represents Calpine public relations to promote the Coyote valley power plant, was previously employed as an aide to Council Person Charlotte Powers? Is this just a coincidence? Or are members of the city council entwined with Calpine to push this project agaisnt the will of the local residents. Most people do not object to the power plant, but it needs to be located farther from the neighborhood. The site near the United Technology plant is better suited except that it will cost Calpine more to run longer gas and transmission lines. That's a small price to pay. You can read in the related documents that they are running lines up to 3 miles for thier proposed plant in the Pittsburg area. |
