The memos, articles, and information continue to pour in. Our Community - Los Paseos - appears firm and united to defeat this plant and all it represents. A great showing!! - BUT?...

Who have you contacted? - I advise everyone that wants to have a say communicate their desires to the San Jose City Council. These people are our representatives and the "first line of defense" against this plant. They MUST change the City's General Plan for Calpine to go forward. Please make sure that you are heard.

This is a "representative" government where big money will be represented unless the "people" show that no amount of money will get a Council person or Mayor re-elected because of a specific stand on this issue. Speak-Up!!

Pollution & Smell:
I have heard and read that this plant will not pollute our neighborhood? It will not have an odor? Calpine, How about a test?

Select 15 days at random over a 2 month period. (Do Not Advise as to the days selected)
Select 5 different times during the day and spread these through the 15 days - at random.
Place smudge pots on the ground (not elevated 135 feet) at the site containing Sulfur DiOxide.
Keep records of the complaints concerning the smell. Plot the area and patterns.
REPORT THE RESULTS!

This should give a fair representation of the Pollution pattern and who might be affected.
If you smell a rotten egg, call Calpine.
