Subj: letter to SJ Business Journal From: [email protected] Dear Editor, With regard to the article Keeping Coyote Valley Green. Mr Joe Guerra, Mayor Gonzales' budget director is sadly un-informed. He stated that the only alternative to the Calpine plant in Coyote would be "increasing the amount of towers on land and numbers of huge wires overhead". Well the fact is that the existing transmission system will support Duke Energy's expansion of Moss Landing Power Plant by 800MW and create zero additional pollution in Coyote Valley. Not only will the valley be kept green but the sky will remain blue. My applause to Duke Energy for rennovating an existing power generation facility and showing the way in true socially and environmentally sound practices. Tim Alton |
