Subj: (No Subject) From: Mike Tatarakis To: [email protected] Mr. Mayor, The Los Paseos area has been the "step child" of San Jose too long. This area was sold on the Light Industry proposed by Fairchild. 25 years later we are finally out from under it's shadow!! Our property values were some of the lowest in San Jose. Now they are getting close to stable. Give us a break! Let us enjoy our homes. The city & Calpine are now telling us that there will be another "clean" industrial project for us? We say - NOT HERE, please!! Please keep the zoning in Coyote as is, for commercial, light stuff, Cisco, etc. IBM will be shutting down it's South San Jose plant over the next 2 - 3 years. This area will need employers to replace lost jobs. Calpine does not represent jobs. If the city wants to expand South, build up the infrastructure first. Widen Hwy. 101. Build some schools. Incorporate Morgan Hill into San Jose to stabilize the Tax revenues. These items should be at the TOP of the list. We voted for you as Mayor because of your strong business background. The current proposal by Calpine is not good business. You can count on lost revenue from lower property values. The South San Jose area has been very supportive of your Office & Management. Please keep us in mind when the Industrial strong men are twisting the arm of your administration! Mike & Kathy Tatarakis
