Subj: Cisco Systems Feedback From: [email protected] Cisco is only the first domino. Ultimately the plan is for 50,000 jobs in the Coyote Valley. This translate to 300,000 or more people. Where will we get the water to support this many more people? How much more air pollution will we be exposed to due 50,000 more commuters (minus a few for carpooling & rapid transit)? Finally, all the developers owning property in the Valley are already pressing the Mayor to fast-track housing development. Are we supposed to believe they are going to build housing that Cisco's employees can afford? We will probably end up having to subsidize the builders. It seems a pity to have to pray for an economic downturn to preserve any semblance of a reasonable quality of life. Henry Bielefeld |
