Subj: Cisco's own Power Plant From: [email protected] (Tim Alton) I already mentioned on the Cisco Feedback pages that this would be a corresponding treatment of this neighborhood, compared to what is occurring in North San Jose with the US Dataport Facility and its 50MW plant. As far emissions are concerned, the rate per MW is allowed to be higher by the BAAQMD for this size of plant. The overall total being lower. Also SCONOX, everybody's favorite buzz word, is in service for this size of plant so we can go and beat that one to death again. But since CVRP tried to push it on MEC I will expect them to practice what they preach. Why would Cisco build an inefficient single cycle unit? The 30MW Calpine plant next the Cisco site in north San Jose is combined cycle. If it also removes the need for so many of those dirty diesels then that's even better. |
