I found out from a very reliable source what happened to our black and white cat phoebes. He apparantly was carried off by a coyote and up into the foothills the night he disappeared. I have done extensive research on coyotes and discovered that cat is their favorite meal. They also are known for carrying off small dogs and whatever domestic pets they can. I have personally sighted coyote 3 times while scouting out the area along colleen. It may even be the same coyote. I've spoken with neighbors about their opinion on this. Quite a few people have seen coyote around 5:30 - 7:00 am, and I saw one behind some homes off colleen at 7:30 am.

He appeared unaffected at all by a man and his dog walking a few feet away.

Coyote have been spotted clear over by chesbro and blossom hill rd. They can live practically anywhere, are very clever and prefer to hunt at night. Please try to keep your precious pets in at night. They are just not safe from dusk until after sunrise.

I have two other cats, and being indoor/outdoor for 7 years, it was hard for them to stay in at first. But they adjusted quite well. Please don't get that feeling of false security that I had. My pets were out everynight the past 3 1/2 years without incident. They never wandered past the neighbors house in either direction. Phoebes was taken from our neighbors yard while playing w/bugs in their yard.

Now, for the curious minded... How I found my information on phoebes disappearance. After exhausting all resources on what could have taken him away from me, I clicked on a missing pet link and found what was to be the answer to my prayers. Before you form an opinion, keep in mind two things... 1. what do you have to lose? 2. the cost is very small.
