As a resident of south San Jose, I've been greatly enjoying the news you send out.

Most recently I have begun working at the City of San Jose's new 24 Hour Customer Service Call Center. It's a terrific job, and I'm enjoying serving my fellow citizens.

We are open 24 hours for all types of city questions, from aiport to zoo. We have a large database of knowledge about just about anything city related, and also handle service requests for things like outed street lights and abandoned vehicles, for those citizens who are tired of leaving messages on voice mail boxes.

Another thing we do that you might be interested in is taking citizens' complaints and comments about hot issues, like Calpine and Cisco, and pass them on to the mayor and councilmembers' offices, in hopes of making San Jose's citzenry heard.

I'd like to encourage you to give out our number -- 408-277-4000 -- to the citizens of south San Jose, so that we may better serve them.
