Subj: School closures, excess properties. From: [email protected] I am the president of the Blossom Valley Pony Baseball League. One of the properties that Oak Grove School District is attempting to sell is the baseball fields that our league uses on Calero Ave just South of Snell. We have close to 600 children that play in our league and we provide some of the physical education and team sport instruction that most of the school districts claim they can no longer afford to provide. This property also houses familiar footsteps day care, a church and a youth program. Even with this valuable service that is provided(mostly to children in the Oak Grove School District), The district has decided to put this property up for sale and displace 100s of kids in our neighborhood. Please contact the School district and your councilperson and ask that they put a stop to this desperate and short term solution to the financial crises that is happening in all California schools. Please call our hotline to help us find a place for the kids to play ball Jake O'Sullivan |
