Subj: Park Dedication, Sat, June 10th -TOMORROW
From: [email protected]

Howdy Neighbors!
6-9-00

Palmia Park, one of the newest City Parks in San Jose, will be dedicated by Mayor Ron Gonzales and Councilperson Charlotte Powers tomorrow, June 10th. Come on down and meet your representatives in action!

The Dedication is scheduled from 12 noon to 1:00 at the Park which is located in the new La Palmia residential tract off of Cottle Rd. directly across from Santa Teresa Hospital. Don't worry about the grass turning brown. Charlotte informed me that a problem with the watering system has been fixed. Bring your family and enjoy the play area!

While there you can take a peek at the last three developments going in. (Barbaccia Properties, Owner/Developer) Approval for raising the height limits for the final development was passed unanimously at the City Council meeting June 6th. Height limits were raised from 41 to 70 feet. Mr. Derryberry assured the Council that there will be no increase to the number of residential units as a result of this change. (Planned for 598 multi-family residences AND 7500 square feet of "Commercial" use on 14.02 acres)

No increase over the 598 new units currently being built should be a relief to all commuters who try to get onto Highway 85 at the Cottle Road on-ramp every morning! Have a great weekend!

Yours in action,

Mike Murphy, Open Space Coordinator
