Subj: Canoas Creek From: [email protected] I live along Canoas Creek. This morning, Santa Clara Valley Water District sprayed herbicide along the embankment between my back yard and the path. My dog was outside and needless to say barked and ran along the fence chasing the man with the spray gun the length of our back yard. I'm all for beautifying S. San Jose and know that sometimes we need chemicals to combat things like mosquitoes and weeds. I feel the residence along the creek should be notified when sprayings occur. I choose to keep my one and a half year old and my animals out of range when I use chemicals like weed killers, fungicides and insect sprays. My sympathy goes out to those with respiratory problems. Mike Wander @ SCVWD offered to put me on a list of people to call prior to sprayings. Shouldn't everyone along the creek be notified? Denise Liebscher |
