Subj: cisco expansion From: [email protected] I live south of Bernal and east of Monterey road. That puts me in the Morgan Hill school district. My two children are / will be attending Las Pasos, Encinal, and Martin Murphy Middle school. I have no intention of allowing my children to walk or ride to elementary school. However, when they are in middle school I imagine they will want to be riding bikes to school. Currently the route to school would require them to travel more than 1 mile along side Monterey Road, and Bernal Avenue. Both of these streets have a large amount of traffic, and it is moving very fast. I understand that the city of San Jose is anticipating increasing Monterey road to 6 lanes. That is six lanes moving in excess of 55 miles per hour. I can not imagine riding my bike along side this street, much less my children. I am praying that in the widening of Monterey road they will include some kind of pedestrian bridge between this neighborhood, and the neighborhood that the schools are located in. |
