Subj: Restrictions at Santa Teresa High School From: [email protected] (Runsvick, Joanne) I am a parent, alumni, and homeowner in the Santa Teresa area. I am deeply appalled by the directives made and supported by the STHS administration and Superintendent of the ESUHSD. How can the decision to restrict the use of the facilities for ST students be considered in the interest of the "community "? Aren't the students and their families a part of this community? It's blatantly obvious this directive serves only a handful of people. Are all parties input and welfare being considered? Why is Santa Teresa the only school in the district placed under this restriction? It's unfair to the ST students, families, and coaching staff who invest their time and money to make this program successful. I want my kids to be proud to be a part of a team, school, and community where their interests are considered. How can I teach them to be a respectful "global citizen", demonstrate basic social skills that encompass listening well, speaking well, and compromise? Value their academics, be resourceful, creative, and a life-long learner, all of those ESLRS (Expected School wide Learning Results) that have been touted over the last few years...how does this directive support the school motto, "Excellence and Success For All"? Seems to me the district is speaking out of both sides of their mouth. |
