Subj: Women's rehabilation Center
From: [email protected]

It has come to my attention that a home has been purchased in our neighborhood and the new owners intend to operate it as a women's rehabilitation home. I do not know if it is a drug rehab or some other type of rehab center. The address is 6217 Culvert Drive. The house is located on the corner of Suisse and Culvert. Supposedly the home will house several women at a time. I live across the street form this home and am opposed it being located in my neighborhood for several reasons.

The neighbors were not notified that this home was purchased for this purpose. In fact, this was only discovered when an existing neighbor who happened to be home for lunch during the day greeted the "new neighbor".

This is a middle class residential neighborhood composed of families with children. This type of facility does not belong in this area. There are plenty of suitable locations in the downtown area.

The neighborhood cannot support the traffic. There is not sufficient parking for the cars of the women, administrators, and of visitors of the women.

The women may come from questionable backgrounds. While I am at work, what will they be doing in the neighborhood?

Property values are sure to drop. Who wants to live next to this type of facility? This isnt fair to hard working couples and individuals that are trying to survive in the Bay Area. This affects all homeowners in the surrounding neighborhood because they will have to disclose the existence of the rehab house during real estate transactions.

My wife and I have talked to more than 20 homeowners in the surrounding area and all are opposed to the Rehab home. We are holding a meeting on Tuesday, Jan 25, to stop this in its tracks before the doors open for business. We have invited Forrest Williams who lives down the street from us. We will keep you informed of the outcome of the meeting. May need your support in the future.

The bottom line is :

WE DO NOT WANT THIS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND WE WILL DO EVERY POSSIBLE TO STOP IT!

Regards,

Jim and Ilda Mitchel

6214 Culvert Drive
