Subj: CISCO From: [email protected] I was glad to hear that Cisco will be developing a planned campus in North Coyote and not just the scattering of buildings in parking lots that they have on Tasman in North San Jose. I was disappointed they had no answer to my question: What is Cisco doing to reduce peak electric demand? It's during the peak loads (about 88 hours per year) that Calpine claims their plant is necessary. I was hoping to hear the latest buzz words in load shifting technology such as "Off Peak Air Conditioning" which sounds like a really good sytem, and my new favorite "Daylight Harvesting". When my mother used to tell us kids to open the curtains and turn the light out, I had no idea that she was pioneering "Daylight Harvesting"! Tim Alton |
