Mayor Ron Gonzales and the San Jose City Council, as part of the State of the City Address, recognized community members and community groups who distinguished themselves in service to the City of San Jose. Each council member selects someone to honor each year.

From Council District 2, Forrest Williams chose the Silver Leaf Neighborhood Association for the work they have done in their neighborhood association.

From Council District 10, Pat Dando chose The Youth of "The Spot" Youth Center Advisory Board for the work they have done creating a safe and fun place for middle school kids to go after school.
